Kimi Gerred was born Kimmy Nelson. All those close to me will always know me as "Kimi" and that is how they spell it too. Adopted at age two by my step father. At such a young age I never knew any other name except for Gerred until my mother told me about my real birth name. I never saw her birth certificate until I was about 48 years old. I was so shocked that I framed it where it remains today.
California Changed my name back to the way that appears on my birth certificate "Kimmy Darlene Nelson" on March 4th, 2013 and nearly wiped out 48 years of my life as Kimi Gerred.

No one is perfect but Jesus! However, When I was living a back slid reprobate lifestyle in the nineties, God used Bono to remind me that I was not one of them (the world) anymore because I had been saved in 1988. All I had ever known was being a party girl. My parents taught me from a very young age that life was full of social drinking and lots of parties (including BIG political Campaign Parties held for their candidate friends.) Bono's music touched me when I was still in the dark places of bars, smoke, and beer... Until finally, five years after being born again I was delivered from that lifestyle. It didn't mean that I wasn't saved, it only meant that I was still living all I had ever known. Bono has a beautiful & sensitive soul that most Christians never attain. So regardless of Bono's spiritual condition he is getting a better start towards God than most ever will because his heart is not hard, but he has compassion towards the needs of the world's destitute people such as Somalia Drought victims. And towards the helpless due to injustice such as Aung San Suu Kyi. I also had a very soft heart my whole life before I ever knew the Lord. I think that made it easier for me to become HIS!
