I've Been Tithing For Twenty Two Years (22)
Back in Richland, MO. I attended faithfully twice a week to the Cornerstone Baptist Church where a wonderful group of friends attended. Pastor Chuck Baker is spirit filled and I adored him and Brother Zandy his assistant as well as I adored the entire congregation.
We were a close knit group and Pastor Chuck always kept us doing exciting things like watching Christian movies together in the sanctuary on occasions on Sunday evenings. We had lots of group dinners, breakfasts, and bible studies.
They were so kind to bring me cat food one time when I had an emergency. And they helped me to relocate out here to California in 2010 by renting me a Penske truck. My family and I bought the gas. And together we created the miracle of me being here in California.
I paid my tithe in entirety when I attended there and I owed them a hundred dollars on the deposit for the Penske truck that I paid in payments once I got here to California but I finally got it all paid off. Brother Zandy is my friend on Facebook and I love seeing his updates. He is a mighty prayer warrior and great man of God.
Since I have been here in Ca. I searched for a home church for about six months before making SouthWest Community Church my home church. But it took me two hours on the bus one way to get there and I noticed I was getting sick from riding the bus because my head would get too cold from the air vents blowing on it. Then I had four serious bike accidents in 2011 that had me off my feet for a while. And In June of 2012 I developed a heat related illness and was home bound for the most part to the current day.
But I still tithe only I don't have just one church to send it to. I send it to all who have been feeding and ministering to me. Since I attend online weekly at Pastor Steve Munsey's church I sometimes send him the entire tithe. As I do to Pastor Sergio De La Mora when I attend his church services for more then 3 consecutive weeks. But lately, I have sent some to Aquilla Nash because I have had to request emergency prayer from her so much. And I sent some to the Catholic Church who volunteered to go and pick up my son from the bus station near the interstate when he arrived. I also sent some to a church in AZ. who helped my son when he had no money, no food and no roof over his head.
I think it is important to give our tithes but I also give alms to the poor when I am able. But without fail I give my three HOLY offerings 3 times a year at Rosh Hashanna, The Passover and the Pentecost offering. Since Pastor Steve Munsey taught me about the Passover offering on a TBN Praise A Thon the offering sometimes gets paid to him or TBN. And on occasion I sent it to Pastor Rod Parsley but he calls it the Resurrection Seed Offering.
My tithe has stayed near about the same since Jan. 2000 when I went on SSI disability. However, my new business began in September 2009 and I have began to see some more earnings that continue to grow and I tithe on that as well. I also keep the Sabbath Holy and I will not do any business pertaining to finances on Saturday because I really want God to bless the work of my hands so that I can get off of government assistance. My tithe currently on SSI is less then ninety dollars a month. But at least I am faithful and have records dating back to about 2008. But I have been tithing for twenty two (22) yrs. Glory to God!!!
